haha he should be. He is so fantasia-esque I should just go all the way. I love drawing alligators so much though, they have the best shapes.

so good. i love that monster as much as it loves whatever it is in love with... perhaps crushing the snouts of drinking animals? perhaps a particularly handsome beast of the opposite gender...

that said, i love gators and crokz so much that i wanna nerd out a sec and clear up some taxonomy. what you've drawn looks more like a croc to me - when a gator's mouth is closed only the top jaw's teeth are visible. also, gators and caimans have much broader snouts than what you've drawn - they're almost shaped like a big duck bill or a penny loafer...

the only reason i'm pointing this out is because crocs are bigger and meaner than gators, crocs eat significantly more humans, and gators live only in the americas. all of which makes a difference when imagining the character and who or what it's in love with and why...
well at least for me... anyway, i love the doodle.

wtf is a gharial?
almost extinct. sorry.
they're a weird crocodilian endemic to india that has adapted to exclusively eating fish. The super narrow snout offers less water resistance so they can whip those long toothy jaws side to side and snap up fish.

o! o! and another awesome shot of a sadly emaciated caiman (that shows bone structure really well):

I know yours is an alligator but this reminds me of L. Carroll's:
How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin,
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in
With gently smiling jaws!
